    Overview

Saha Projects delivered the refurbishment of a heritage-listed former bank building for Adrian William Real Estate. The project adapted the property for contemporary commercial use while preserving significant architectural features and addressing structural, accessibility and compliance requirements.

    Challenges

The work required careful coordination between new structure, existing heritage fabric, building services and the operational needs of a modern workplace. The team also needed to integrate a new lift and accessibility upgrades without diminishing the character of the building.

    Response

The project team coordinated consultants and trades around the existing conditions, planned structural strengthening before dependent finishes and managed restoration work alongside the new commercial fitout. Decisions affecting heritage elements were addressed carefully so that modern interventions remained compatible with the original building.

    Scope

    •   Structural strengthening and associated building works
    • New lift installation and accessibility upgrades
    • Heritage restoration and protection of significant fabric
    • Commercial refurbishment and fitout
    • Services and compliance upgrades

    Outcome

The completed building provides Adrian William Real Estate with an accessible, functional commercial workplace that retains the identity of a prominent Newtown heritage property.
